Newbury Greenham Meeting

The 2015 Flat season moves up a gear at this meeting and we are pleased to have a few entries.

On Friday we run a nice three year old filly Russian Radiance in the 7f maiden. She is unraced and well regarded by us but it looks a tough race and plenty of runners so the priority will be to keep a lid on her slightly fiery temperament and hope she can have an enjoyable experience as well as confirming the promise we believe she has. She will I expect get 8f in due course and come on for the run.

We also run a once raced three year old Alert. She has grown nicely over the winter and is still work in progress so will be worth following for later in the season over middle distances.

On Saturday our old favourite Balmoral Castle attempts to keep abreast of all the rises the handicapper gave him last year in what looks like a tough 10f handicap. Ned Curtis takes 5lbs off and he is working well so we will watch and hope!

One horse he has been leading in gallops is Royal Razalma and she steps up in trip for the 7f Group 3. She only has un penalised Group 1 winner Tiggy Wiggy in the next door stall! The purpose of the run is to assess her trip requirement for this season and hopefully get a handle on her ability level as well. She holds a 1000 guineas entry but there will be other lesser races to consider too. She is working nicely and we are really looking forward to seing her out again.

Another planned runner for Saturday is twice raced maiden Albert Herring. He is crying out for a trip and his day might come in lowish level staying handicaps in due course.
