The annual Horses In Training came around again at Newmarket.  Many of the horses we deem to be below economic racing standard have been found non racing homes recently.  We take this part of the job very seriously and believe for many horses, provided the home is well vetted, this is the best course of action, as opposed to being sold for very little money to a far flung country with a dubious racing regime.

We took just the one horse, Alert.  But it was more to dissolve an existing partnership in her and create a new one so as she failed to make sufficient money she has returned to Whitcoombe for a second chance.  Her cousin was second in the Breeders Cup fillies sprint a few days later!

We returned with an extra horse as previous owner Allan McWilliam purchased Genuine Approval, an unraced 2yo filly by Approve from the Qatar Racing draft for us to train.  Allan originally owned Balmoral Castle when he was an unraced three year old so hopefully he has a good eye for a future star!
