Winner at Southwell

3 year old filly Russian Rumour became our 20th winner of the year when holding on gamely to take the 1m6f handicap for amateur riders at Southwell under Simon Walker in the absence of our resident rider James Harding who has an injury.
The £4K yearling purchase was winning her second race of the season having won a similar race at Bath earlier in the year. She had shown her liking for the track when finishing a very respectable 2nd there just a week ago. She probably deserves a holiday now!
Her dam Russian Rave had been a good servant to us before selling to Ballylinch Stud. The late Tom Edwards, of Annecdote fame, had been one of her owners so it was great that those colours could be winning again here as Tom’s son Anthony and nephew Paul are members of Fillies First, the winning owners.
