Winner at Lingfield
Three year old filly Wondrous Light won on her handicap debut when taking the 12f handicap by a neck for owner breeder David Meaden of Shelmore Bloodstock and partners Vicky Holmwood, Christopher Lambourne, Dieter Losse. Well ridden by 7lb claimer Jack Callan who is clearly a young jockey going places.
A poignant win on a few levels. As a young two year old here she faced some challenges which with help from my staff and the filly herself she has moved on from.
Her original part owner loved a grey filly and purchased a leg in her but subsequently died from an aggressive form of cancer. Malcolm Forbes would have loved this victory but his share was acquired by his friends and racing partners Dieter Losse and Christopher Lambourne so he would be pleased with that too.
But the big eared giant filly Wondrous Light, an £11k yearling purchase, is the real star and let’s hope she can progress from here.
