Lambourn Open Day
This Friday sees our first Lambourn Open Day. Whitcoombe House Stables are open from 8.30am to 1pm. Our staff will be pleased to meet visitors and show them the stables and the 58 or so horses here, including last season’s Royal Ascot winner Annecdote.
Money is being raised for local Air Ambulance and the Lambourn Housing Association and there is a silent auction currently running for that cause. We are offering , thanks to Jeremy Brownlee of our yard sponsor Pump Technology Ltd 20 seats to watch London Irish at The Madejski Stadium split into lots of 4 seats, plus lunch for 2 in the dining room at The Madejski Stadium to watch London Irish. These lots will be available at the yard in the morning and at the afternoon event at the show field.
The programme for the afternoon is as follows:
10.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. TRADESTANDS OPEN There will be a wide variety of goods, displays and food outlets, as well as some children’s entertainments
Afternoon Programme A large television screen showing live racing from Lingfield Park will be towards the top of the tradestands area.
1.00 pm Parade of Vine and Craven Foxhounds 1.25 pm Rockwood Dog Display 2.05 pm Musical Ride of The Household Cavalry
2.35 pm Parade of Horses to include Kauto Star, Sprinter Sacre, and Toast of New York followed by Galloping Acrobatics, a novel pony display
3.05 pm Schooling over fences and hurdles with Top Jockeys
3.35 pm Soldiers of The Household Cavalry v Top Jockeys Show jumping
4.15 pm approx Silent Auction and Raffle close
